Real Ale is a great love of ours. Since arriving in Tongham, we have had six new hand pumps installed and now offer up to six ales at any one time. We usually have a Mild or a Porter available together with a variety of other ales of varying strengths. Please feel free to suggest new ales that you would like to see featured. We have served over 130 different ales since May 2007! You are welcome to ask for a taste of any that you unsure about. On the 3rd August 2007, our new automatic tilting stillage was installed in the cellar. This system helps us to keep and serve our fine ales to you in even better condition (See a photo in the gallery). Further automatic stilage has been added recently to allow us to keep up with demand for our ales. Westons Old Rosie scrumpy is  available on hand pump together with a local Hampshire cider from Mr Whitehead`s.

Stella, Fosters and Carling are available on draught. Strongbow & Guinness are now on dedicated extra cold pumps. Our range of bottled lagers includes Budvar, Corona & Hoegaarden.

Hot drinks are available at any time during opening hours.

On the 26th July 2007, the pub was awarded four stars in the Guildford Borough Council FOOD HYGIENE STAR AWARD SCHEME.       Thus earning the rating of "Very Good".              For more information about the scheme, visit: www.guildford.gov.uk/scoresonthedoors

KITCHEN OPENING HOURS

Lunchtimes 12.00-14.00 Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Saturday

Evenings 18.00-20.30 Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday

On Wednesday and Thursday, when the kitchen is closed all day, a limited menu including the Pizza menu may be available if the chef is in. Please don`t be afraid to ask.

Phase 1 of our new smoking shelter is now complete. Further protection from the elements will be added in due course.

Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult and seated in the Lounge Bar or Garden. A selection of toys and games are available behind the bar.

Well behaved dogs are welcome.
